Jai Sri Krishna!
Dear Ma'am,
Myself Sajna Vinish, all the way from Trivandrum, Kerala. It was quite by chance that I stumbled upon your articles and your amazing renditions so mellifluous. Having completed my post graduation in Indian Karnatak Music, I moved on to concentrate more on being a media professional. Years later started learning more and now am slowly climbing my ladder of being a Carnatic Vocalist and being a performing artist. It was at the last year of my PG that we all had to do a thesis, a project part of our course study and mine was ,"Women Stalwarts in Indian Karnatak Music". A topic close to my heart and now I am preparing to release a book version on the same topic and by chance I came across your youtube video,as part of the INKtalks.com on the topic of the role of women in music traversing through the history. Quite a refreshing discussion presented beautifully. Absolutely floored by your article and I re read it a couple of times lest I lose an important aspect in between. My fascination in understanding more about the time when women were empowered like never before with knowledge and art, educated and skilled, eloquent in language and creative in their arts.Until the Mughal invasion perhaps life was of a different color altogether. It would be a pleasure to discuss more on the topic since it would help me to know more about the women prevalent then as Vocalists in Hindusthani music and also your opinions regarding what you perceived from the South Indian history of it.If I could have your mail id Ma'am it would be great, since advice on your part can help me a lot in my current work. I am quite new to putting together a book, the nuances and the discipline needed. As a Guru if you would guide me I would take it as my blessing.
Regards,
Sajna Vinish(gourikrishna2005@gmail.com)
